Fun day - I went to a slide show lecture in a series by local artists. This one was by Danielle Bodine (left) and Sylvia White (right), showing baskets made from recycled and unusual materials. It was great - even though I had seen one of Danielle's slide shows before, she had new slides and some from Sylvia, so I really enjoyed it. Both of them also brought show and tell, and Danielle will hopefully teach at our Retreat next year. Jan Hopkins was there, too, which was a wonderful surprise, and Danielle had a lot of slides of Jan's work, too.

Poor Sylvia, though - she had to come across the Port Townsend ferry, and the weather was so windy the boats were delayed. When she finally got on board, it was so rough that waves were breaking over the bow, and some passengers were seasick. Now, usually the ferries are very stable, so that's pretty unusual.
You can see how big and black the clouds were in this photo, which is looking toward Double Bluff, center horizon. You could actually see the Olympic Mountains, at the very far right, so we weren't getting any of the rain, but lots of heavy wind. The power was on and off all day.

And, this bush just cracked me up! The lid blew open on the dumpster at the Post Office, and this wild rose bush snagged a lot of the litter. I closed the lid, but am guessing it will blow open again.
