HAH! Cold and wet and windy today. All day.
But later on the rain actually stopped for a little while, and I noticed how green the new vine maple leaves are, and how pretty the flowers.

And the sun came out briefly today, too, after a late season storm of high winds and rain, rain, rain! At high tide, the water of Holmes Harbor seemed so clear, but it is closed to swimming and clamming because of polution. Sigh.

This photo is actually misleading, because it was cloudy all around, but a small portion of sky showed for a while.

Within a half hour after these photos, we had a complete cloud cover again. At least the wind has died down!

WARNING!! WARNING!!

Don't try to use a CD spindle outdoors when the sun is shining! Sadly, we don't get that much sunlight, so when it was nice I went out and sat in the sun. I had just found this spindle in my closet with a ball of fleece, and it seemed like the thing to do! I even think I'm starting to get a little bit better at spinning. But, the sun flashes off the CD, blinding you when you least expect it!

I'm making a flat braid with the kitchen-sink wool that I spun. I hope to use it to finish the rim on the felted basket I made.

The yarn is pretty curly, so it's a tiny bit of a challenge to keep the weavers straight!

Down by the pond, rhododendrons bloom near cedar and fir trees.

Dew drops glistening in the early morning sun on the leaves of strawberry plants.

Nearby, the tulips are once again putting on their yearly show.

OK - you get three guesses! David went clamming - these are the cooked neck muscles from horse clams. Enough said....
