Well, here is the final result of the tent caterpillar invasion - the cocoons have hatched, and the moths are everywhere! Thankfully they don't seem to come in when the door is open, but I'm not taking any chances.
At night they beat against the window screen when my bedroom light is on. Creepy!
As it turned out, they only live one day, just long enough to mate, find a place and lay their eggs. The whole thing was over in less than 2 weeks. Much better than the 6 weeks of caterpillars!
Awe enables us to perceive in the world intimations of the divine, to sense in small things the beginning of infinite significance, to sense the ultimate in the common and simple, to feel in the rush of the passing the stillness of the eternal.
