Heading out to the Northwest Basketweavers' annual Spring Retreat! Yay! Probably won't be able to update this blog until I get back on Sunday.
At the Retreat camp, I checked out a yellow cedar tree that we had planted last year in memory of Mary Irvine. I was delighted to see that it made it through the summer just fine, with new growth on all the branches. It won't take long for it to grow above the salal shrubs.
I didn't take any evening class today, but watched the tufting class. They used dyed fur from animals like elk, moose and deer to create tufted designs on leather. An interesting technique!
