We awoke to a perfectly clear sky, and I eagerly awaited the sun's arrival. It was spectacular, glinting off the melted overnight frost and bedewed spider webs,
and raying out through the mist and trees.
Later, on a little hike, I came across a log of orange slime.
Awe enables us to perceive in the world intimations of the divine, to sense in small things the beginning of infinite significance, to sense the ultimate in the common and simple, to feel in the rush of the passing the stillness of the eternal.
