It was calm and mild at the beach today. It's fun to shake up the traditional photo aspect, looking at things from a slightly slanted point of view . . . a bit of a moon snail shell nestled in the sand.
Across the road, the swamp, full of water and dead tule stalks, hides a flock of very vocal red-winged blackbirds. They burst upwards, then swing around and dive into the stalks, calling to each other. It seems a bit early for mating, but the weather may be fooling them.
A huge black cloud hid the sunset, while the areas of brighter sky reflected on the calm waters.
