We decided to drive the convertible to Oak Harbor this afternoon, and noticed that the wild rhododendrons are in full bloom, so we stopped at Rhododendron County Park near Coupeville.
It's a tiny park with a campground and some trails in open woodland, with the native Rhodies everywhere amongst the trees. They grow tall and gangly, and the pale pink flowers are scattered among the branches. They're not packed as tight as the commercial varieties, and are only the pink color. I love seeing them through the trees.
And in a blur as we drove out of the driveway.
