Book Club meeting tonight - we read Seven Years In Tibet. Yes, there was a Brad Pitt movie several years ago, which was very good, as is the book. The book is much more detailed, but very interesting none the less. It's about an Austrian who was interred in a prisoner of war camp in India, and escaped into the Himalayas, and in the course of 2 years worked his way to the city of Llasa in Tibet, where he ended up tutoring the Dalai Lama who was 14 at the time. They ended up with a life-long friendship. We had a good discussion about Tibet as it is now under Chinese occupation.
