We had a very mild February - over two weeks with little rain, and the temps over 50 degrees every day. The pussy willows are really blooming, with their funny hair-dos!
With the leaves all gone, the abandoned bird nests really stand out. It seems I see new ones every time I go down into the woods. A lot are built in the brambles, and gather a lot of moss over the winter. They are rarely used again.
Awe enables us to perceive in the world intimations of the divine, to sense in small things the beginning of infinite significance, to sense the ultimate in the common and simple, to feel in the rush of the passing the stillness of the eternal.
