Another bit on the evening news, 11 fishers were released this past weekend in Olympic National Park. They were bred in British Columbia, and each of the animals was fitted with a radio tracking collar, according to an article today's Seattle Times. The reintroduction plan was crafted last year by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, in conjunction with the National Park Service. Over 100 fishers will be reintroduced in the next year at three areas of the park: Elwha-Sol Duc, Hoh-Bogachiel, and Queets-Quinault. They had been extinct in the Park for over 100 years! You Go!! (This is not my photo - it's from the Times.)

Actual blue sky this morning - at least a little bit. And, it didn't rain until late in the afternoon! Amazing. Snoqualmie Pass, where I-90 goes across the Cascades, has been closed for two days, with over 5 feet of snow in the last few days. They're clearing the road, but are having major avalanches. When they did open the pass after the first day, an avalanche came down and buried two cars (luckily no one was hurt), so it's closed until further notice, or if it ever stops snowing there.
