I am so tickled about this! Jamie and her sister Kristen gave me one of Margaret's hooked rugs - all for my very own! It is so Margaret - her exuberant use of color and shapes makes it such a vibrant piece. The close-up above shows all the color changes she used. The technique is rug hooking, using strips of wool fabric. She got most of hers from garage sales and thrift stores, and cut it all by hand. She combined all kinds of colors, patterns, tweeds, plaids - you name it, you can find it in this rug. It is about 12" by 18", and I'll probably hang it on my wall, or use it as a table topper.
