After the storm. It was very wet and foggy this morning, when the sun rose and broke through the clouds. Every leaf and branch had rain drops on them, sparkling in the sun. The fog and mist filtered through the trees, sunlit from behind.
Of course, then it clouded up and rained off and on. At least the wind didn't gust.
Awe enables us to perceive in the world intimations of the divine, to sense in small things the beginning of infinite significance, to sense the ultimate in the common and simple, to feel in the rush of the passing the stillness of the eternal.
