We have a clump of Madrona trees in our yard, and the peeling bark is so unusual. The bright green of the inner bark really stood out today, so I tried different exposures and focus to see what the new camera would do.
With the manual focus I was able to get within an inch - pretty amazing! Of course, if you didn't know that it was tree bark, you wouldn't know what it was, but it's an interesting photo as an abstract, too.

And this is another of the trunks, showing how the bark begins to peel at the branches.
