Kathy and I visited the antique shop at Copley Circle, and she found this sugar bowl for me - look how it matches the piece I already had on the right. I have many pieces in my collection now - mostly teapots, but also cups, bowls, biscuit jars, coffee pots, chocolate pots, salt and peppers, sugars and creamers, vases and some items I can't quite figure out what they were used for! I have never been able to find much out about these, other than they were made in Japan in the 40's and 50's. They are red-ware, glazed except on the bottom, mostly brown but rarely dark blue or green. The colored dots and gold are hand-painted. I've always loved the many designs, and have been collecting them for more than 15 years.
