After a reasonably nice weekend, it poured and poured and poured today, and then it hailed. But, it cleared up a little toward evening, generating this spectacular sky and smooth water at Mutiny Bay. What is there to find on an empty beach?
Ducks speeding away, leaving a shining wake as they seek safer waters. The shadow of a wavelet in the clear water.
And a moon snail shell, empty and broken in the sand.
Awe enables us to perceive in the world intimations of the divine, to sense in small things the beginning of infinite significance, to sense the ultimate in the common and simple, to feel in the rush of the passing the stillness of the eternal.
