 We went out to lunch with Cody's coworkers, then stopped at this little park. It had signs warning about cougars!

 It started to rain, then hail, so we headed back to the house. Time to go home!

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2012

 In the afternoon we went to the Medieval Times restaurant with Cody's coworker Angela.

 You are seated around an arena, and get to watch displays and a tournament while eating. Each section is color coded to one of six knights - we were with the Yellow Knight.

 Here he is!

 There was lots of pageantry, and a really wonderful horse show with beautiful Andulsian horses from Spain.

They even had a car!

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2012

Today we went out for breakfast, then went to the beach at Dana Point for a little bit. Brown pelicans flying overhead.

There's a nice walkway above the sand.

 There were a few surfers trying the waves - not very big ones, but enough to have some fun.

 They call this access the "1000 Steps!"

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2012

 Last night we drove back around the mountains to Idyllwild. Breakfast at the Red Kettle!

Cody's employer owns a lot with 5 cabins, and allows the employees to use them. This is the one we stayed in.

 View along the road down from Idyllwild. Lots of very rounded rocks, so different from our jagged terrain!

  Then we drove over to Big Bear mountain, and picnicked on the Mill Creek. Sunny and warm again!

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2012

This is the view from Cody's bedroom - blue sky and sun!

 We drove over to Palm Springs and took the Aerial Tram up to the top of the San Jacinto Mountains.

 The view from the top - there was snow on the ground, but the air was warm and sunny. Palm Springs below, in the Coachella Valley. To the far right we could see the Salton Sea.

 Rolling snowballs down the steep slopes.

 A clear stream meandered through the valley.

 The Jeffrey Pines smelled like butterscotch.

  The tramway on the ride down - there were 5 of these towers. You go from 2,300 feet elevation up to 8,500!

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2012

Cory and I flew to CA to see Cody - here we are at the John Wayne Airport, waiting for him to pick us up! Lookit the palm trees!

 Well, this photo doesn't really portray exactly how dark and dreary it is today! It has been raining for days on end, and today the clouds are down in the tree tops. Blah!

The roof is so wet it is reflecting the trees!

Thank Goodness I am off to sunny California tomorrow! So, while I am enjoying the sunshine and the company of both of my sons, you will have to wait a few days for the photos!
