Out of nowhere we had a short snow shower last night, but it has been cold enough that it is lasting all day! Brrrr! The poor willow tree is rapidly loosing it's leaves on the new-fallen snow, which wasn't hard enough to cover ground under the trees.
But it did freeze the birdbath, and line the rim with cold.
I started some holiday decorating by adding bows and baubles to my wreath on the porch. You may notice it is a bit brown - it has weathered the years well. I debated adding fresh greens, but as I was attaching the bows, I found a tiny bird's nest, complete with 4 unhatched eggs! I couldn't move that, now, could I??
The nest is nestled in the left side of the wreath, next to the baubles.
Another clear, frosty night and morning. By the time I got outside, the sun had risen high enough to melt the frost on the branches, creating the drips that I love!
Especially fun to photograph with the sun behind . . .
While I was out there in my bathrobe, the flicker chipped it's way across the sky and landed in the top of the fir tree to see just what I was doing!
Green and Yellow Books have arrived! They are another one of the Photo Art Journal projects, and are part of a larger project that will include Red, Blue, Orange and Violet. Catherine will even create a box to hold all six volumes when we're done.
