The sun came out again, creating shadows in the late afternoon on the leaf-carpeted forest floor.

For lunch, we drove to Waldo, Ohio, home of the Famous Bologna Sandwich. 
The sandwiches consist of a huge slice of bologna, grilled and served on a bun with cheese and pickles. They were pretty good, but very filling!
But we had to save space for the Peanut Butter Pie. It was so large that it was all that the three of us could do to finish it off!

Now the wind and rain have come, and leaves are falling off the trees rapidly!

In the evening, I met up with childhood friends: me, Debbie, Norma, Susie, and my sister Cris. We all grew up on Adawood Drive, and 40 years later we still have fun!
Driving home from Mohican through Amish country. Lots of buggies on the narrow roads. The farms are large and well-kept - even in the rain, a lovely drive.
We stopped for lunch in a small town where it was auction day, and most of the area's farmers were there to attend.
We also stopped at another tiny burg, Kidron, and shopped at the world-famous Lehman's store. Huge, and filled with just about anything you can imagine!

Mom, Cris & I headed to Mohican State Park for a couple of nights. Above, Cris holds a leaf lit by the late afternoon sun. We stopped at Pine Tree Barn for lunch and some shopping - Cris looks at decorations on a home-spun tree.

in the air, Mount Rainier pokes through the clouds. Holes appeared where you could see down to the ground.
On the east side of the mountains, the Columbia River catches the late afternoon sun as we move.

I am leaving this morning for a trip to Ohio until Nov 2, so I likely won't be able to load any photos until I get home. NOT lugging this 17" laptop on the airplane ever again!!!
