Another rainy day in paradise . . . but I do love the drippy photos!

 Later that evening, we had our Basketry Guild meeting, where Linnette Miller from the WA State Historical Society gave an interesting talk on identifying baskets and other old objects, and also some tips on taking care of them. Above, Sally (right) our president, points to the identifying photo in a book while Linnette holds a yucca seive.

 A couple of quick snapshots taken from a moving car (at least this time I wasn't driving!) It was evening, raining, and foggy, and the trees are so lush and green this time of year. Except for the alders in some areas - the tent caterpillars are back on their continuous 13-year cycle of eating all the leaves of the alder trees. But it gave this hawk a clear view - any he wasn't real sure about us stopping on the road below him!

Sorry - got involved with work and fixing plumbing today, and never got around to getting my photo!

Dragonflies are such strange creatures. This one came in the house - the sliding glass door was wide open, but he kept banging against the glass, inches away from the opening. After he posed so nicely for me, I helped him find the way out. I looked him up - he's a Shadow Darner. Of course, I'm not sure if he is a he, though! Most of the web info was a bit unclear about the differences between the sexes, and I didn't really care to examine further!

Working on a willow basket - the base went very well, but trying to upsett the sides is becoming a struggle. Oh, well, just keep on trying . . .

Last night coming home from Game Night at Sally's, interesting clouds and sunset over Holmes Harbor. We're almost at the solstice, and the sun is setting just a few degrees west of north. Click to see the larger version - the clouds were quite spectacular.

 More rain again today - in the garden, the wisteria is dripping, and the last of the rhododendrons captures it's share.
