Basket Guild meeting, and we learned how to weave "in the round", meaning we made little balls from two pieces of birch bark.

 And although they look easy, and indeed, after learning the technique, they ARE easy. However...learning was not so easy!

 Teacher Karen Sherwood had to help each of us through each and every step! Yikes!

Folks were concentrating hard, but in the end, most of us managed to complete one. Then it was very quick to make another. They can be used for ornaments, or smaller ones for earrings or necklaces, or you could put something jingly inside to make a rattle. But for me, it was enough to just learn the method!
