I recycled some of David's blue jeans into a field bag - something I can drag around with me when I wander down in the woods or beach. It was a very fun project - I used the top part, with the front pocket and back pocket, and I even added the other back pocket to the inside to have another pocket there.
I cut the waistband off another pair of jeans to use as the handle. I sewed the buttonhole and button to the bag, and can use the long handle over my shoulder, or remove it and button the shorter parts together to have a short strap.
I got the idea from this blog that I can across quite by accident: Camp Creek Blog.

looks great! :^)
Thanks, Lori - I sure enjoyed your post, and am looking for some cargo pants, too - love those pockets! I have now added some color with PaintSticks - will get some photos of that soon.
