Suze and I explored the beach at a -4.0 low tide - that means it was 4' lower than mean tide level. Which means that at Useless Bay there was a LOT of sand exposed.
It was foggy and a bit rainy, but we saw flocks of seagulls,
lots of Great Blue Herons,

lots of sand,
heavily encrusted moon snails,
and loads of live sand dollars in the tidal pools.
Where they met the edge of the water, they would snuggle under the sand, so we figured there were lots of them under our feet.
And this little guy. He wasn't very pleased with cameras in his face, but what could he do? We didn't bother him for too long.
