Looking across Useless Bay to Double Bluff and the Olympic Mountains beyond. The water is Admiralty Straits in Puget Sound. It's a glorious summer day (finally!!).
And you can see why it's called Useless - when the tide goes out, the sand stretches for miles, and the boats are aground. The summer sun warms the sand, and when the tide comes in, the water warms up and it's a fun place to swim. It's also fun to walk way out at low tide, and dig for clams and goeducks.
