I found these fuzzy grasses growing by the pond - most of them are blooming now, and it's amazing to see how different they are, and how many!
As I was walking though the woods, this light blue egg shell caught my eye. It's fairly large, but not as big as a chicken egg, and the shell is very firm. I tried to do a little research on the Internet, but all I found out was that in general blue eggs are laid by birds that build nests in trees, as opposed to on the ground, which are mostly white. From the size, I'm thinking it may be a hawk, since it's so much bigger than a robin's egg.

And, as I came out of the trees into the yard, it was getting on toward sunset, and the clouds were back-lit by the sun. As it turned out, it was the front for a thunderstorm system. It was a short shower, but we're supposed to have more rain tomorrow.
