Isn't this a sure sign of spring? This is a pussy willow tree which has been tortured to have weeping branches - kind of bizarre, but it has it's moments, like now, when it begins to bloom. At least, I guess these are the blooms. Anyway, since the groundhog didn't see his shadow, spring should be coming soon. We'll believe it when we see it!
The witch-hazel is also blooming - look close! It is the wild type, not bred for large, fragrant blooms in late winter. So those tiny greenish things are the blooms, and actually they are just about done. They were brighter a couple of weeks ago.

Buzz doesn't understand why I pay more attention to the camera than him. I do give him equal time, tho, and he gets to come along on my walks.
